Yahoo! Music Videos on Facebook

Posted on 02. Jul, 2007 by Jason in Web 2.0

Yahoo! Music Videos on FacebookYahoo! launched a new beta application on Facebook this weekend which brings the Yahoo! Music Videos service to your Facebook account.  You can search for artists, find new music, dedicate videos to friends/co-workers and even add your favorite videos to your Facebook profile.  The service can pretty much be defined as a glorious mashup, utilizing both the Facebook and Yahoo! APIs.  We have to admit, the service is both slick and convenient but a tad bit buggy.  However, given that the concept was brought to life in about 30 days, it’s a pretty decent “beta.”

In case you didn’t know, Facebook is:

“…a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.”

Oh, one more thing…I think the best part about this story is Yahoo! blogger Jim Bumgardner’s description of the Facebook service:

“It’s kind of like MySpace, but not as ugly.”

My sentiments exactly.
