Apparently, Dell is Offering Unlocked Nokia and Pharos Phones

By Jason | Jun 24, 2007

Via Dell’s public Direct2Dell blog, the company is (and apparently has been) selling unlocked wireless phones from manufacturers like Pharos and Nokia.  Given that phones you buy straight from Sprint, Verizon or any of the major cell networks are missing certain functionality (like OBEX data transfer for Bluetooth on most, if not all, phones from Verizon,) this may be just the ticket some of you more picky geeks individuals are looking for.  We share Roam4Free’s opinion that Dell should probably be advertising this a bit more than they are now…meaning, something more than a vague, barely informative post on the company’s blog.

Some of the items currently offered: the Nokia N95/N80/E61i/N73 as well as the Pharos 600E PDA Smartphone and GPS Phone 600.  View the selection at accessories.dell.com.
