BetaNews alerted us to a new service from ABC allowing you to watch streaming episodes [courtesy of Flash 8] from their primetime lineup for free. Current offerings include Desperate Housewives, Lost, Alias, and Commander in Chief.
The picture quality is excellent and there are two available sizes: 500×282 and 700×394. One spectacular feature I'm truly impressed with is the availability of the entire season of each show. For instance, after launching the latest episode of Alias and selecting the Menu for the current episode, I can then switch to any episode (500-512) from the current season. The viewing window is surrounded by a slick background with a corporate sponsor's logo in the upper right-hand corner. The corporate sponsor also appears, in text only, at the beginning of the stream.
This is where it's all headed and we're not opposed to it at all.
