Firefox 2.0 Alpha Scheduled for February 10, 2006
The first sneak peek at Firefox 2.0 will be officially released this February from the Mozilla corporation. According to PC Pro, “…the alpha will not be feature complete, [but] among the improvements slated to appear are better access to History and Bookmark pages, improvements to the tabbed browsing and other user interface enhancements.” I personally can’t wait. There aren’t a lot of problems I’m having with Firefox but I would like to see its’ memory usage drop down a bit. That’s probably not going to happen though as the browser becomes more bloated and more feature-rich.
You can read the article over at PC Pro.
It would be really nice to have better bookmark pages, even though I like the social bookmarking choices I still have local bookmarks on all of my machines.
Yeah, social bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us (thanks to Flock) are very much growing on me. I love being able to mark a site as a favorite and not have to worry about logging in via RDC from work if I want to bring that favorite up again. It’s actually incredible to think that IE hasn’t even released 7.0 yet officially (and won’t for months to come) with their new “tabbed interface” feature and we’re just about to the 2.0 release of Firefox.
