As was reported widely yesterday, Microsoft debuted Windows Live (live.com,) a service which will include applications like mapping and instant messaging (and many, many more.) The online service aims to let some of Microsoft’s most popular desktop applications loose online. Windows Live is supposed to be followed up with Windows Office online.
The purpose of the post was not to inform you about the services themselves, because hopefully you’ve already heard them elsewhere, but to inform you that you can be one of the first to experience Windows Office online when it launches in beta in the early part of 2006. Just head over to the Office Live site: http://www.microsoft.com/office/officelive/default.mspx.
